My name is Tyson “Tycon” Stevens. I’ve been producing/creating music since 2002 when my buddy gave me a burned copy of FL Studio. I was horrible when I began but with time, effort, learning, and better gear and software, I’ve been able to do some pretty amazing stuff–way beyond when I began.

With the creation of the laptop and virtual studios, anyone can now become an avid producer. In years past, you’d need a ton of money to buy a super basic setup. With the creation of PCs, music production software and virtual DAWs are super cheap and even sometimes free (with basic functionality).

There are so many facets to music production and so much software and gear that it can be intimidating to know what to get for the sound you want to create. I’ve messed around with a ton of software and quite a bit of hardware too over the past 15 years. I’ve produced for multiple artists and my own band (2004-2009).

I created this site to share what I’ve tried and loved, along with production tips and information I’ve learned along the way.
